Legato Performance Exhausts
The sound of the exhaust is great we really like it. Not too loud on inside with good tone to people on outside. Our car had the factory designator removed before bought so it is probably louder than normal but excellent. With not being factory mid section our tips were pointed in some and had to take to muffler ship to have it tweaked to my liking but over all great value and sound. Comparable flowmaster systems are 600 so the extra 20 at muffler shop was still great buy
Awesome exhaust, fast shipping, customer service excellent. ..only thing I would tell everyone is get it done by a professional and get it welded hard than it looks.....A +++++++ business
2007-'17 Jeep Wrangler Legato V6 Axle Back Exhaust
Sounds like you guys did your home work this is just what the Camaro should sound like. All my neighbors now know when I arrive ! This was to easy it really only took me 25 minutes to measure cut and replace. Love this exhaust !!!!!!!!
sounds just as good as the top brands.
Great value, looks good and sounds better than stock. Already getting better fuel economy, installation wasn't hard if you're a wrencher,
My new exhaust arrived quickly and undamaged, I installed it the next day easy install like most reviews the measurement of 9.5 inches for the cut on the original pipes was to much I cut mine at 5.5 inches using your reference points great fit could be a little louder but overall sounds great highly recommend.
The hangers were not bent but had to have them modified because they would be touching my smitty bilt rear Rick crawler bumper, and the pipe needed heating up to fit straight ( exhaust not muffler pipe) but sounds awesome and looks great...$100 later though... there went my savings on the deal....
A few days ago, I received my Legato exhaust for my 2016 Mustang. I was going to take it to a shop with a hoist to install but the hoist was busy so I decided to do it on the floor of my garage. I am 69 years old and crawling around on the cement floor is not fun any more. It took me about 3 hrs from start to finish. Part of that time was to go and get new saw blades as mine weren't in the best condition. The exhaust went on as expected. Was more difficult on a convertible as the extra bracing had to be removed from both sides and a total of 16 large bolts had to be removed and reinstalled. The exhaust is now installed and it sounds great. Nice deep sound at idle and gets better as RPM's go up. It was exactly what I was looking for. I recommend this exhaust for anyone looking for a little more sound but not excessive with little drone (slight at around 1300 rpm in 6th gear) and a reasonable price, about half of other exhausts. Great exhaust, give them a try.
I just installed my new exhaust today...love the sound...installation was pretty easy...The only problem i had where your hanger keepers broke when i tried to put them on...but no problem i used hose clamps...the look is great...thanks
I have had the exhaust on for a few weeks now and really like it. The system seems very well built and sounds great on my Coyote V8. Here is some info from my install on the LEX 4211. You WILL have to delete the factory resonator. I was under the assumption that this kit kept the factory resonator. I spoke with Legato on the fact that the factory resonator had to be deleted and they confirmed the exhaust was installed correctly. Without the resonator this exhaust is loud and will drone in the 1600-1800 rpm range. 20 years ago I would have left out the resonator without hesitation as this exhaust sounds bad ass. I wanted to tone it done a bit so I put in an aftermarket resonator. Wanted it to be wife and kid approved. The resonator did the trick, most of the drone is now gone along with the CIS (card in spokes) sound. Legato was on point in the communication department and were great to deal with. I had one issue that I think another reviewer of this exhaust also had. The driver side exhaust hanger (part# 4000-5) broke on the first day. I replaced it with an aftermarket polyurethane hanger. A polyurethane hanger has to be used as a standard rubber hanger will allow too much movement in the tail section of the driver’s side tail pipe. Another tip make sure the band clamps are clamped in a way that the band itself is over the z-line cutouts on the pipe being clamped and not the part of the clamp were the nut and bolt are. This resolved some very minor exhaust leaks that were caused by the clamps not being clamped down in the right spot on the pipe. Overall my experience with Legato was a good one. I think this is one of the better sounding exhaust kits at any price that I have heard to date on a F150 5.0.
Nice product good sound. A little tough on the install but after a small modification, it looks great.
As I looked through countless exhaust videos on youtube, I was searching for something that had medium growl and wasn't obnoxious. When I came across Legato Performance, I initially thought that due to the price they would not be up to the task or somehow not as good as the more prevalent names in the industry. I was wrong. I gave them a shot and I am extremely happy with the build quality and sound. Low rumble on startup, plenty of growl in the mid RPM range and mellow at WOT. There is a drone from 1500-1800 rpm. The only thing that wasn't perfect was the hanger fitment. But after a little tweaking, they fit just right. Nice product guys! I will have a video up on youtube very soon so the 2013-2014 5.0 Mustang owners can see and hear.
All in all I like it.... but
Installed 4 days ago. Sounded great at start up. Sounded very good at 50 mph+.....
But at about 30-50 mph..... it seems so loud in the jeep it cancels out my oem subwoofer
I like the looks but not the In cab noise
No drone, just loud.
So I've taken it off
I was hoping I could adapt but after 30+ minutes driving in the 30-50 range I was about to go mad.
It would probably be great for a teenager or 20 something. But not for me.
Nice quality sound at reasonable price. Also mild mpg increase seen.
The only hard part of swapping out my exhaust was getting the old one off. Love the sound of it and it was a breeze to put on.
Sounds great , I already had long tube headers and it sounds awesome! That's the sound I was looking for
It was packaged nice fit great looks fantastic and sounds incredible!!
The exhaust went on easily but I'm not happy with the sound of it. It's to quiet. The one in the video sounds more raspy or throaty.
Tight fit to connect to existing pipe but the tips are equally spaced and hung! Looks/sounds better than my neighbors Gibson Metal Mulisha Exhaust. Thumbs Up!!
Great sounding exhaust for my 08 Rubicon. The price was good too! For the most part installation was simple, I did have to heat the hangers and bend them slightly to keep the pipes from rubbing my frame. The only complaint I could think of having is I would like the actual muffler to sit a little closer to the heat shield so that I had just a small bit more clearance, and the exhaust tips to be removable. Neither of which would cause me not to purchase this exhaust in the future. Overall I am completely satisfied and shipping was amazingly fast!!! Had it 5days after placing the order!!!
The instructions were accurate making for a quick easy installation. I cut the exhaust pipes about 7" back for my 2010 Camaro SS. The new mufflers slipped right on over the existing exhaust pipes.
Awesome sound!! Fairly easy install a little adjusting of the hangers to get it perfect a value way beyond the price!!!
Super fast shipping! I won't be putting it on until spring but I'm sure it will sound AWESOME!!!
Really like the sound ...Fit wasn't perfect but not too bad..Would absolutely buy again and recommend to friends
I really like the sound that it creates. I am disappointed in the fit. I will need to make some adjustments so that it fits properly under my Jeep.
I have not installed the dual exhaust yet since it is the middle of winter here in northeast. Inspected the exhaust is is of high quality bends and workmanship. I had a problem with a coupon code not coming off when ordering it online but emailed Legato and they said they would track it down and take care of it. With in a couple of days they had the order fixed. In my book any company who does that and that fast with no questions asked is #1 in my book. So for price and quality workmanship you can't beat Legato Performance!! Thanks Guys!
I'll write back when I get it installed. Pete
Installed easily on my 2010 Camaro SS L99. Unfortunately, I did have to cut the tips off as I have the GM Factory Ground Effects package, but I was fully aware of this when before I ordered.
The sound is amazing. It is very, very deep at idle, but will scream at high RPMs with an amazing tone. I am running my car with long tube headers, cat delete and resonator delete (w/ X-pipe), so it is basically straight from the engine to the Legato axle back.
Pros: Super easy install, fantastic sound, fast shipping, and amazing price.
Cons: No Stainless Steel finish (expected for the low price) & Legato does not offer a solution for the GFX equipped Camaros. You will have to cut and replace the beautiful tips they ship with, but I knew this before I purchased it.
This is as close as you can get to a 'Flowmaster' type of sound, but at half the cost!
I google 2007 f150 exhaust that doesn't drone. I listened to the clips and ordered a dual exhaust shipped to Canada installed it and absolutely loved the sound.its only gotten better sound since then. I'm 63 and grew up with muscle cars ,23 mustangs so far , loving the throbbing v8 music . I love the sound when it idles and burbles then comes alive as I drive off. My truck feels and sounds mean and nasty in a good way. I tell everybody who asks where I got it and how well thought out it was to install plus it is inexpensive compared to what the shops want for similar but inferior sounding exhaust here in Canada I say to all Canadians don't waste your money on harsh sounding exhaust order it from legato...I did and I'm very happy.
The exhaust was a nice upgrade to my Wrangler. It gives the engine a good tone and I can hear what its doing. Not overly loud inside the cab. I've noticed a little more smoothness in performance as well such as taking off in first gear and the rpms dont drop as fast during shifting.
The only reason I didnt give five stars was because of the fit. Some of the fittings may have been rolled at the wrong angle creating a crooked fit. I called customer service and they recomended bending the support rods which did straighten it out. It didnt straighten out perfect but I can still live with it considering the discounted price. Overall I am happy with it and is much better than the stock exhaust.
I had great service from the beginning. The catback I bought is for a 2013 F150 super crew. It was great quality and sounds amazing.
It took me nearly four hours on my back to get the old muffler off my Jeep and maybe another two hours to get the Legato Axle-back Exhaust installed. The length of installation was due to the non-stock bumper I have that causes the tailpipes to point downward slightly. This also caused the intake pipe and exhaust pipe to not line up very well and resulted in a less-than-desired perfect fit. Other than those issues, I think the exhaust is very well made and looks good mounted. The sound is perfect — not too loud when driving but a definited growl when starting up and accelerating. Great product Legato!
I live in northern Michigan it's colder then a well drillers ass here and haven't had time to put it on yet but would be happy to let you know in a couple of weeks thank you for asking have a merry Christmas get back with me in a couple of weeks
After figuring out the best way to remove the rubber hangers from the stock muffler( large pair of channel locks) install took about 30 minutes. Now the only problem is trying not to hit the accelerator too hard.
The Sound is exactly was I was looking for. The look is what I wanted and got. The quality is outstanding. Only problem is the alignment. I have been playing with it since installed and getting it and keeping it centered is impossible.
2007-'17 Jeep Wrangler V6 Axle Back Exhaust
I am going to be totally honest. When I received your exhaust I loved it then after looking there were a couple small weld quality issues but nothing bad and I remembered the price so it was Absolutley no problem. I also am a flowmaster guy and love the loudness of flowmaster so when I first put on your system I was a tad disappointed. BUT I have grown to LOVE it and am super glad I chose you. I like the burble and popping on down shifts and the overall sound. My past flowmaster systems were insane loud and for this car (camaro ss) that is a daily driver I can have people in the car with almost no drone and carry on a conversation. I love your product after being highly skeptical at first. I have told many people about it both in person and online forums. Thank you.
2014-'15 Chevrolet Camaro SS Axle Back Exhaust
Fit perfect. Don't follow measurements in instructions were to cut your pipe. Do your own measurements. Everything else is great. If you remove the resonator and just run straight pipe where it was it will sound even better. Not too loud and not quiet either. To me the deep growl is perfect!
Noticeably louder than stock, but not too bad. Got used to it quickly. You can hear the engine, sort of like a sports car. Runs much better. More fun to drive with the 6 speed. Lost the stutter off idle that would occasionally result in a stall from stop. With K&N air filter I'm getting 5-7% better gas mileage (Which is really only 1MPG but you take what you can get) Install took an hour. Very happy camper.
Awsome exhaust. Easy to install. the video was perfect. Your instructions were not. Also, the exhaust does need to be welded. I reluctantly tightened the clamps with a breaker bar and the muffler still turns if you try to turn it. I have to get it welded. Customer service was good. The instructions were for a double outlet exhaust. They were also a half inch short from what the video said, that I used to install it. Make sure you don't cut your stock pipe short! Go 2 inches. All in all, it is an awesome exhaust for the money. (Great Price!) Sounds great!!!!!
Was looking for deep sound without raspy, snappy, popping like Roush and so many others. This package was spot on for my 2015 gt, install was about an hour and very simple. Sound is definitely louder and deeper than stock but not anywhere close to obnoxious. Get on the throttle and you'll hear it sing loudly but daily driving throttle/speed, only slightly louder than stock. Drone when lugging and right at 1300-1400 rpm, it's gone by 1500 though... kind of like it myself quite frankly, rpms are seldom in that range though, very controllable. Substantially less weight than stock too, bonus!
Price was excellent compared to some other names is what appealed to me first. Had Mad Hatter Ehaust install it (welded, no clamping) and am very, very pleased. Awesome rumble when idling, deeper tone when normal driving with a semi aggressive tone when you nail it. The 4" polished tips look far better than the stock. Very pleased with my purchase. 2009-'14 Dodge Challenger R/T V8 Cat Back Exhaust Kit
Sounds amazing but very poor fitting. Had to bore out pies and heat/bend hangers to fit and look normal.
I ordered an axle back system for my jeep before Halloween, and I received it near thanksgiving. It took about a month for me to receive my product. The product itself it great, however. Love the sound and appearance.
I first saw the ads on Facebook for Legato Axel back exhaust. Though I was already sold on Roush I decided to at least read about and explore the Legato exhaust. After reading the reviews, blogs, and specs on the Legato home page, then listening to the sound clips on YouTube (which by the way does not do the exhaust justice) I was intrigued. I decided to price it out - $320. And 100 day return policy. This was absolutely a no brainer, it was half the price of the Roush and actually had better reviews as far as sound quality, not to loud, but loud enough and no drone. I have had it installed for almost 2 weeks on my 2016 Mustang GT/CS. I love it, really great old school muscle car sound, no drone at crushing speeds, and it turns heads. I'm sold, well worth the money, great customer service, and top knotch quality! The fit was perfect and installation was a breeze! If your considering new exhaust I would highly recommend you give Legato a shot, you don't have anything to lose at the great price and 100 day return if you don't like it. Look no further, order it today, you'll love it!
Just had this installed and the pipes were the exact same size as the stock system so it wouldn't slide over it to clamp down. My shop had to widen the ends with a pipe bender to get it on there. Then the tips were off but I can heat up the hangers and fix that. Sound is incredible. No drone or rasp at all. 4 stars only for fitting issues which made it more costly.
Directions are straightforward and complete, installation time from start to finish with no help in approximately 1 hour. Tone is good, sound level perfect, not to loud but can hear it now. Two thumbs up for sure!
The exhaust sounds nice from outside but the drone while driving on the freeway is way to annoying. My wife doesn't even like to drive in the car anymore. It may be different for a Camaro with the automatic transmission. But with the manual on the freeway doing 70mph in 6th gear can be killer on the ears and the resonance will find any sort of rattle you may have in the car the resonance is so bad it will vibrate the the heads up display to the point it will make it I bit blurry on the windshield. The drone is only when a slight load is increased on the freeway such as a slight hill or passing one slowly. My feedback Robert
Easy install!. Make sure you check measurements before cutting!
It took all of 20 minutes to install onto my 2013 JKU. The sound is good - it's not loud but it's not quiet either. Has a growl but a 6-cyl one. The polished tips are beautiful! No notice in increased MPG but it has definitely smoothed the engine with noticeably less back pressure - the RPMs stay up longer between shifts.
Great sound, easy install
Looks and sounds great. Had it installed professionally for $129 at a muffler shop.
The purchase, shipment, packaging and ease of installation of the exhaust was excellent. No complaints, A+.
I think the fit could be much better. I've done all of the adjusting possible with the hangers, but the passenger side tip hangs down further than the driver's side. I didn't try and bend the hanger in fear it would break the weld seam, so I'll live with it. In general, I think both tips angle down too far for a Jeep exhaust, but I'll let the trails answer that theory.
Overall, I'm pleased, I love the sound and it actually feels better going down the road, seems like it had more pep. The craftsmanship is great as well, so props LeGato!
Had to do a little bending of the mounting arms to get it to fit but once installed it sounds great!
I HAVE A 2014 CHALLENGER R/T MANUAL WITH A KENNE BELL SUPERCHARGER. I HAVE TRIED DIFFERENT EXHAUST COMBINATIONS. FLOW MASTER WITH AND WITHOUT RESONATORS. MAGNAFLO WITH AND WITHOUT RESONATORS. BOTH SOUNDED GOOD BUT THE DRONE WAS TERRIBLE . ORDERED THE LEGATO SYSTEM BECAUSE IT ADVERTISED NO DRONE. THE EXHAUST HAS THE MUSCLE CAR SOUND I WAS LOOKING FOR AND ONCE YOU SHIFT INTO 6TH GEAR IT GETS QUITE AND NO DRONE. VERY PLEASED WITH THIS EXHAUST.
I have a 2015 mustang GT with Roush axle back. I put a H pipe on in place of the factory suitcase resonator. The rasp and sheer volume under load was unbearable. Anything more than quarter throttle and above 2500 rmp.... NASCAR loud! Research tells me a chambered muffler would tone it down and help with the rasp. So Google brought me to Legato. I am so happy with this new set up, and i can sell my used Roush for what I paid for the Legato. Even with the H pipe, there is very little drone. You can hear the exhaust, but its a good sound. Finish is good and the fit is perfect.
I am a happy customer!
The exhaust came in without a scratch, they did a great job of securing the exhaust within the box. The quality is on par with other expensive name brand exhaust companies. It sounds amazing and looks just as good. Overall I'm extremely happy with the purchase.
2014-'15 Chevrolet Camaro SS Axle Back Exhaust
After a few days, this exhaust started sounding a bit throatier!
Saw a Facebook ad for the exhaust for my 14 wrangler jku. Checked out some videos on you tube and all sounded good, plus it was 50% off promo. It's an easy install but something I just didn't fill like doing. I emailed legato to ask if they had a list of approved installers. The same day they got back to me with a few national chain suggestions of who could install. I ordered, package came in a timely manner. Had it installed. Sounds great.
I have to say, this is the perfect replacement for my car! I was not looking for anything extremely loud. This exhaust system has the perfect tone. Sounds like the car is suppose to sound. Interior noise is minimal, about the same volume as stock except a deeper tone. No drone. Installation was very easy. Thanks!
Nice sound but lost 25 hp with your mufflers installed.
Did email twice some one did get back to me. They are asking if you send me a new set to send old ones back. I have no issues but will not know if it has changed unless car is Dyno again.
I just paid to have it done twice not paying again to see if new mufflers made the HP come back. Legato would like to have it done I am fine with that.
Install was easy and the new system sounds great! Saved a ton installing myself, I would recommend this system to anyone!
Pleased with the exhaust. Good quality. damaged free shipping always a plus.would have gave it 5 stars but I had to do hanger adjustment on the right side to get the tips level with bumper. Also sounds great!
Couldn't be happier
Has a great sound easy to install and looks great
2012-'16 Jeep Wrangler V6 Axle Back Exhaust
Easy install once I was able to get rusty hanger bolts out. Sounds much better than stock and the tips look great.
Haven't installed yet
I've been through four different performance mufflers for my JKU. This one has the right mix of around town growl, quiet on the highway, and performance. Its probably being more conscience of driving habits since I can hear the muffler, but MPG improved by 1.5 - 2.0 mpg overall.
it went on so easy maybe took 15 min. I took a sawzaw and cut the nipple off the stock muffler and it slipped right off , then the catback just slipped right on couldn't have been any more easy , cake work
Absolutely love it.. it sounds great and looks great and easy to install. I would definitely recommend this.

2012-'16 Jeep Wrangler V6 Axle Back Exhaust
Very good exhaust couldn't be happier
Do you make one for my 2004 jeep wrangled. 4.0
2014-'15 Chevrolet Camaro SS Axle Back Exhaust
I just put a Legato axle back, twin chambered system on my 2013 Camaro SS. Several friends suggested Flowmasters but I hated to shell out about 550.00 so I got online and discovered Legato. I absolutely love the moderate aggressive sound! My car now has the low muscle car tone I was looking for. Also this kit is very high quality stainless steel and fit my car like a glove. The best part is that I got exactly the sound I wanted and saved about 250.00 bucks over the other brand! I highly recommend Legato.
This was a gift for my girlfriend. She loved the way her Jeep sounds now. Quality product for sure and very easy to install. She smiles every time she starts her Jeep. Thanks!!
I had to weld the exhaust pipe ball to the muffler pipe. It turned out great. They sound great with a deep tone. There is some drone but not bad..but when you kick it...wow. Legato Performance should really start custom fits for v6 mustangs.
Excellent exhaust if you like Magnaflow and borla you'll love these and at half the cost!
I received my system in just a few days. The box was pretty beat up but there was no damage. The install was easy and took just under two hours taking my time to be sure I got it right. I asked to purchase 2 extra clamps and received them at no charge. I love the way the exhaust sounds at startup and acceleration but seems to have some drone right as the trans shifts to the next gear witch gets a little annoying during city driving.. I also noticed after driving it for a while that the tail pipe tips were off center in the openings ( both in toward the center) tried to readjust and tighten clamps securely but went back towards the center again. This system seems to be made well and sounds great but should have included the 2 extra clamps and enough keepers for all six hangers.
Would have given 5 stars except for the the system is advertised to have no drone and it does.
Sounds just like my buddies American thunder mufflers. But for alot less
It was hard for me finding an exhaust for my coyote that wasn't extremely loud and didn't have a bunch of spitting and popping. I found out about these guys on a forum. I'm glad I did. This car sounds awesome. I added an xpipe to mine to go with the mufflers, I don't think I needed to do that. The mufflers alone are awesome!!
Axle back sounds awesome.
Instructions were detailed and easy to understand. Sounds great on my car. Only issue I had was having to go buy 2 clamps because the two that were supposed to be reused were completely welded onto the factory pipes. Would also suggest adding Legato tips for ease of installation and also promoting the brand. Using the factory tips doesn't let others know what kind of exhaust has been installed
I have longtube headers, offroad connection pipes with factory resonator connected with this axleback, it has a nice deep rumble, sounds great! Im very happy with my purchase thanks alot!
This is the second Legato exhaust install; this time on my son's Wrangler Sport. This time I knew all the "hurdles" so I was prepared. Install was under an hour and my son is no longer jealous of the "old man's" Jeep.
Here's my 2010 2ss/rs with long tubes, catalytic converter delete, resonator delete, and the legato mufflers. I seen a few comments on your Facebook page about wanting to hear it at a higher rpm. The first rev is at 2,000 rpm then 4, and 5,500 was the last. At idle it rattles everything in the garage. Love the low exhaust note. Improved my low end torque. It stopped the high pitched back fires during down shifts and deceleration. Great product.
Love the looks and sound. Turns a lot of heads which is exactly what I was looking for.
Love the looks and sound. Turns a lot of heads which is exactly what I was looking for.
I received this in a timely manner. It has exactly the sound that I wanted. I have all stock exhaust except for the axle backs. Nice low full rumble with not much rasp. I've noticed a bit of a drone in light acceleration on the highway but I have 3.73 gears and run 2000 rpm at 65-70. It's not bad enough to be overly annoying and I love the sound!! Great customer service and response turnaround time from Legato. The only thing I wish I would've gotten was maybe a couple of stickers with the brand name so that all would know what brand exhaust makes my 2013 GT sound so good! (Hint hint Legato)
Easy to put in! But be careful the 9.5" that the instructions is too much. I was around 5.5"..... but went in easy and sounds much better! The ss went from sounding like a sedan to sounding like a performance car! Not too loud but you know it's there!
Install was very easy and fit was perfect. Even tips were perfectly centered. Sounds very good on throttle and quiet at cruise speeds. Does have small deep droan at lugging rpm even with an auto trans.. Would recommend to all
2004-'08 Ford F-150 V8 Cat Back Exhaust Kit
For an entry level exhaust i was pretty impressed. Has a nice sound at idle and WOT. It does drone however but i also threw on an x pipe at the same time so im not sure if its this kit or the xpipe or the combo. Either way id buy this exhaust again. Cant go wrong for less the 400 bucks.
2004-'08 Ford F-150 V8 Cat Back Exhaust Kit
Installed my Legato Mufflers on my 2015 Mustang GT, fit is very nice. no tack weld needed either, just the nice clamps that came with the Mufflers. The Legato Mufflers are lighter than Stock, saving roughly 18 pounds. They are also made with quality material! 409 Stainless and 304 for the tips. 409 is still far superior to Stock aluminized steel anyday of the week. The 304 tips are just an added bonus. Note* Corrosion resistant means that the stock setup will rust first, then the latter. So no worries for at least several years unless you live on the banks of the Salton Sea!
I removed my Resonator, added a H Pipe, then installed Legato Mufflers. Initial startup was a deep growl, and loud. Acceleration thru Town Light and Moderate deep rumble, Wide Open Throttle is Bad Azz.... Cruising on Highway at 1500 to 1900 rpms has drone, enough to want ear plugs. After 100 miles of driving, the drone has subsided (hence break in). My friends think i have Headers, lol! I get thumbs up from quite a few drivers as well.
The cost was 320 dollars shipped and packaged with TLC to my front door. The competition wants more than double that amount! I highly recommend these Mufflers to any Muscle Car enthusiasts for Price, Quality and Fitment Thank you Legato Performance!
Great sound, aggressive when you want it, especially on a manual transmission where you can wind it out and get a nice crackle between shifts. Yet, settles in at highway speeds and let's you carry on a conversation or listen to music. Fit was perfect, I have to agree that 2 more clamps would have been great , had to drill welds to get old ones off to reuse, not at tip, but at "h" pipe.. Will post video..
I bought the Legato Axle Back despite the fact that there is not a version that fits my convertible. I loved the sound when I watched videos so I was willing to pay to have an expert modify the system to fit my car. It sounds so good running and especially at start-up. Gives my car the sound it deserves with the muscle it's packing.
I love the sound of the exhaust from the startup to the low growl going down the road. Installation was easy and nothing was a headache really. The only issue I had with the system was the extra rubber hanger that is provided in the kit broke less than 24 hours after installation. So I left work, luckily live 5 mins down the road, and did not realize the driver side of the exhaust was dragging behind me on the road. It was only being held together by the clamp on the other pipe going over the axle. One more bump and I would have lost the entire peice. Right now it is being held together with bat and ghost duct tape I found in my shed. I have also noticed the end peices have what looks like some rust spots just on the inside of them after just a week. Hopefully all will turn out ok. The system is great otherwise. I would recommend to another.
Fits great, sounds very meaty. This is how car should sound from factory.
I love the way my car sounds now!!
First off i want to say that the materials and workmanship of the exhaust is excellent. The sound is good; however i was hoping it would be a bit louder. I have to say that the instructions provided are not very good. They are hard to follow and its often difficult to tell what goes where. The instructions would benefit greatly from some images of an actual install. Second issue is with the band clamps. These tended to bind up and it was very difficult to get them tight enough to completely stop rotational movement on the rear section that routes around the spare tire. In fact I bottomed it out and the section will still move if i press down on the tip. I had to remove the band clamp and use a regular u-bolt style clamp to get it to stop drooping. Third issue is that the provided band clamps were of the wrong number for the back sections. I received a larger band clamp in error. This wasn't that big of an issue though considering the band clamp i took off the section routing around the spare and used a u-bolt. Fourth issue and this is more of a preference. The instructions stated that i needed to cut 6" off the secondary connection pipe to the muffler. I think i would have been ok and perhaps gotten more purchase with 5" . Again, this is simply my opinion, but the 6" cut resulted in barely enough length to get the pipes inserted past the compression cutouts.
Other than those issues the install went pretty well. Sound is good and the exhaust tips look awesome. Really solid product for the price. Very good value.
I was impressed the moment I opened the box. Easy install.
The install went smoothly. We welded it like the instructions suggested can be done over using the clamps. The tips look like the stock stainless ones, nice. The sound is very good, not too loud in the car at all. It sounds great outside, a very low deep tone. A female drives this car daily and she really likes it as it's not overly loud. It sounds like it should have from the factory.
First, and most importantly, this exhaust sounds absolutely awesome! Second, the installation is a breeze with the small exception of getting the hanger retainers on (I still can't get them on). Third, it only cost me a total of $400 -- $320 for the exhaust and $80 for a used donor OEM exhaust.
Startup gives you a bark like nothing you've heard, and immediately gets your adrenaline flowing. After that, it is a sweet, deep rumble all the way with a minor exception. That minor exception happens at 1400 rpm +/-50 when you are under somewhat heavy load (lugging it). There you will get a borderline drone -- it's not quite drone but you get just a bit more than exhaust tone. This occurs for me mostly at about 52-55 mph and ~27-29 mph going up medium inclines when the automatic transmission doesn't quite need to downshift. Everywhere else, the sound is fantastic. When you're just cruising along you get a rumble that reminds you that you have a Mustang and not some simple run-of-the-mill daily commuter. Better yet, my mpg went up immediately, and I'm now averaging about 25.5 mpg versus the 24.8 with the stock exhaust. Comments I've received include: "what an awesome old school sound that has!", "man, those tips set the car off", "that gets my heart going and makes me want to go buy a Mustang".
I highly recommend this for anyone who wants a medium aggressive tone that won't quite wake up the neighbors but does remind you and everyone around that you have a Mustang with the venerable Coyote 5.0.
Fits great, sounds as the car should, mean.
Perfect fit for my 2016 Jeep Wrangler 75th Anniversary Edition. The sound is fantastic: a soft and deep note at idle, a deep rumble between 2,000-3,000 rpm (where I think it sounds best), and a very aggressive growl above 3,000 rpm. It does not sound like a V8 (which I think is adequate), but adds a great note to the Wrangler. It is loud but not crazy loud to bother people. I had people take notice and complement me on the sound at the first traffic light after I installed it. I also like the finish of the tips with a very subtle "Legato" stamped on them.
The only thing that bugs me is that the right hanger rubs against the frame of the Jeep and creates a metallic buzz at idle. I'll add a piece of teflon tape around the hanger, which should solve this little problem.
Overall, well done, Legato!
Received order as expected. Box indicated it was axle back exhaust. Opened the box and correct product was inside. Installation was straight forward no issues, stock tips re-used on new system. Sounds great, not too loud but not too quiet. Exhaust tone changes dramatically over rpm range. It actually sounds quieter in the cabin at higher rpms. There is some drone but not bad. Overall very happy with the new sound, more fun to drive. Maybe some horsepower gain also. Next comes the supercharger.
Adjusting rear tail pipe to get even was a pain . Instructions could be a bit more definitive U might want to think about Welding the finishers onto the pipe but overall a pretty good system for the do it yourself kind of person and price. Quality clamps as well.
I love this exhaust, super easy to install, great sound, great price.
The install went nice and smooth with all parts fitting well. Sound is a deep smooth rumble but quite at idle with is awesome. On the highway this exhaust can become a bit loud at times. Also on the muffler the z notches that are made will create an exhaust leak and will need to be sealed up after installing. All and all great system
The fit was off. Maybe it slipped in the jig, that is what my professional installer said. I sent pictures earlier with the beautiful tips pointed at the ground. No one got back to me. So I went to the professional installer. He cut the muffler off of the inlet rotated it till the tips were parallel to the bumper and welded it back on. $60 later they sound great and look great.

They just don't sell you a system and then you
don't hear from them anymore they want to get.feedback from you .
The install as promised was very easy. Following the instructions step by step will not give you any problems. As mentioned by another review the z notch on the inlet and 2 outlet positions of the muffler create a small exhaust leak no matter how hard you tighten the band clap.
The sound is very deep aggressive in cab but at idle you can not hear it. Highway speeds around 100km-110km I found the exhaust note to be really loud. Not too sure if this will go away as the exhaust breaks in. Very pleased with this system as the sound quality is as good even better then those real expensive systems for a fraction of the cost.
2013 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Unlimited Easy to install with a great sound. Sounds very nice on the road. Looks great! The price is right. Thanks, Legato.
The exhaust system was very easy to install, had the old mufflers out and new in in about an hours time. The sound is great and turns heads everywhere I drive. My 2010 SS now sounds like it should. Great Job Legato
Great sound, easy installation, fast delivery..... Can't go wrong
I bought this axleback recently and got it installed. I love the sound, especially at start-up and idle, has a really nice deep old school muscle car sound, and have received a number of compliments about it. However, I do want to point out that it drones inside the cabin when you're in 6th gear between 1300 - 1700 RPM. Now you might think, as I did, how often you'd find yourself in that rev range in that gear, but it happens quite frequently if you're cruising in the city. Other than this small niggle, I love the sound from the exhausts and would definitely recommend them to anyone considering an axle back system.
Perfect fit, quick easy install and sounds absolutely Mustang!
When installed it hung crookedly with uneven pipes below the bumper. I had to have one exhaust shortened at a local muffler shop. Sounds good, now looks good too.
Endless complements about the sound of the legato axle back, probably the most slept on exhaust for the mustang GT, and you can't beat the price

Love the exhaust system it has the best sound for me and I can feel a big difference in power with my car
Fits extremely well with no problems during install. Sound is awesome and believe me everyone notices!
Can't beat the price affordable performance
I feel that it has lost some power at the midrange. I can't just drive at 60mph in 6th as I did.
Amazing sound and not very loud
2012-'16 Jeep Wrangler V6 Axle Back Exhaust Kit
I love the exhaust, but I have a rattle that I cannot figure it out. I have checked everything.
The brackets did not match, the tips point down to much, and the paint faded in just a few months sound good though.
The Throaty sound was all I hoped for. Exactly what I was expecting. Fun to drive and listen.
The sound is incredible!
I truly love the great sound and it gives me great mileage
2014-'15 Chevrolet Camaro SS w/6.2L V8, w/o dual mode exhaust. Will fit convertible. Axle Back Exhaust Kit.
Installed exhaust on my 2015 JKU Rubicon HR. The fix of the longer hanger rods are appreciated. The distance between the "dual exhaust outlets" are inside the twin red tow hooks attached to the rear bumper. Now for the problems. Removing the stock muffler is somewhat difficult. The culprits are the rubber hangers; spraying them with WD-40 or similar product does not make it easier if you are using a screwdriver to push the hanger off the rod. The location does not give enough room to apply more leverage. So the choices, if you are going to do it yourself, are to buy that special tool to push the rod out of the rubber hanger (and you won't know if it will fit in the space especially on the passenger side) for $22-28 or buy two new hangers from Chrysler-Jeep for $8-12 and cut the old ones off and remove the oem muffler. And I took the latter method. So I get the old one off and get the Legato muffler on. Slip it on the exhaust pipe, and get the hangers into the new rubber mounts which have been thoroughly lubed up. Now for the muffler keeper AKA lock washer. Blog shows to tap it on using an appropriate sized socket. Unforfunately, there isn't enough room to even to tap it sufficiently to push it on. My solution was to use washers for both sides and fixing them in place with appropriate sized hose clamps which will allow removal if necessary as opposed to breaking a tack weld. Hope these suggestions help the next 70 year old shade tree mechanic from hollering nasty words and downing too many beers for what should've been an easy job.
The exhaust was just what I was looking for! It's not too loud, just right. The in cab drone would be the only thing I dislike, but it's almost non existent. You can only hear if you slightly accelerate, in l99 applications. Using my paddle shifters is a different story! Definitely recommend this product, especially on ls3 applications. I'm working on a video at the moment so stay posted!
Frank and the company personnel were great to deal with. \
Product was better than advertised. Really completes the car!
